Frontera Camboya - Tailandia / Cambodia - Thailand border. 2019

Para cruzar desde la ciudad de Siem Reap a Bangkok nos tomamos un micro que sale desde Camboya y te deja en Tailandia. NO necesitas cambiar de micro como lo ofrecen otras empresas (donde te llevan hasta la frontera en colectivo y luego cambias a una combi). Lo único que haces es bajarte en el límite fronterizo hacer tus papeleos, cruzar caminando y hacer la entrada a Tailandia.

Para que no te pierdas del grupo y de la empresa de transporte con la que viajas, que te esperan del otro lado, te pegan un sticker en la ropa.

Importante que con el calor que hace más todos tus bolsos colgando no se pierda! Ese es tu pase al colectivo del otro lado de la frontera.

Les cuento que nuestra espera fue de HORAS! Con excusas del tipo "se pinchó una rueda", "hay un problema técnico" y la que remató fue "está cruzando, ya viene" y el colectivo nunca pasó por nuestras narices, ya estaba del otro lado hacía horas larguísimas.

Llegamos a la frontera camboyana a las 11:50 y nos volvimos a subir al micro a las 16:05. Increíble, no? Pero sí! Nos tocó esperar y con muchísimo calor.

La salida de Camboya es rápida, solo te sellan el pasaporte y ya esta. Pero la entrada a Tailandia fue de una cola de hora y media. Mucha gente, pocos empleadxs, largo el tema.

Como saben, por ser argentinas, no pagamos nada al entrar a Tailandia. Tenemos una visa sin costo alguno que nos da la posibilidad de estar hasta 3 meses en el país tailandés. Nosotras solo nos cruzamos para poder tomar el vuelo hacia Argentina.

La empresa con la cual cruzamos la frontera se llama Hang Tep. Precio: 15usd.

Tarda unas 4 horas desde el centro de Siem Reap hasta la frontera, después tenes los trámites y bueno, la espera a que el colectivo cruce. Que te inventan que tiene la rueda pinchada o algun problema técnico. Para nosotras era un espere para algún otro grupo de gente ya que nuestro colectivo viajaba super vacio.

Una vez terminados todos los trámites, desde la frontera hasta el centro de Bangkok son unas 3 horas más.

Por suerte te deja a unas cuadras de Khaosan Rd. Que si tenes algún hotel por ahí es la bomba o si necesitas tomarte algo para llegar a tu destino, al ser centro centro, tenes todas las facilidades para moverte.

To cross from the city of Siem Reap to Bangkok we toke a bus that goes from Cambodia and leaves you in Thailand. You do NOT need to change the bus as other companies offer (where they take you to the border in a big bus and then make you change to a minivan).

All you do is get off at the border limit do your paperwork, cross walking and make the entrance to Thailand.

So that you do not miss the group and the transport company with which you are traveling, who are waiting for you on the other side, they stick a sticker on your clothes.

Important that with the heat that makes and all your hanging bags do not miss the sticker! That is your pass to the other bus on the other side of the border.

Then you wait with a lot of patience for the bus to show up. Really be patience.

Our wait was for HOURS! With excuses of the type "a wheel was punctured", "we have a flat tire", "there is a technical problem" and the one that ended was "it is crossing, it is coming" and the bus never went through our noses, it was already on the other side for very long hours. WTF?!

We arrived at the Cambodian border at 11:50 and we got back on the bus at 16:05. Amazing, right? But yes! We had to wait and it was very hot.

The departure from Cambodia is fast, only your passport is sealed and you're done. But the entrance to Thailand was a queue of an hour and a half. Many people, few employees... etc. etc.

As you know, because we are Argentine, we don't pay anything when entering Thailand. We have a visa at no cost that gives us the possibility of being up to 3 months in the Thai country. We just crossed to take the flight to Argentina.

The company with which we cross the border is called Hang Tep. It cost: 15uds.

It takes about 4 hours from the center of Siem Reap to the border, then you have the paperwork and well, wait for the bus to cross. Remember all the excuses... for us it was a wait for some other group of people since our bus traveled super empty.

Once all the formalities are finished, from the border to the center of Bangkok it is about 3 more hours.

Luckily it leaves you a few blocks from Khaosan Rd. That if you have a hotel out there it rocks or if you need to take some transport to get to your destination, being downtown, you have all the facilities to move.
