Sydney 2018

Llegar a Sidney y ver la Opera ahí, esa que vemos todos los años por la tele cuando anuncian que en "Australia ya es año nuevo" es algo inexplicable. A muchas personas quizá les parece una pavada, pero para nosotras fue realmente emocionante, no por la ópera, eso a nosotras no nos representa nada, sino por el hecho de vernos y sentirnos por primera vez "del otro lado del mundo".

Estábamos paradas ahí, viendo ese icono del "otro lado", viéndonos a nosotras, entendiendo que no es un sueño, que sí, que lo estamos viviendo. Vernos ahí nos puso la piel de gallina y el corazón latiendo a mil. Ey! De verdad lo hicimos, de verdad estamos por darle la vuelta al mundo. Creo que en ese momento recién entendimos.

Nueva Zelanda ya nos tenia enamoradas por sus paisajes, su sociedad y su cultura, pero no habíamos caído en cuenta de que estábamos de aquel lado del mundo, de ese lado que siempre se ve tan lejano cuando festejan el año que nosotrxs festejaremos muchísimas horas después. Por lo que creo yo, que Sydney fue nuestro gran cachetazo.

En esta hermosa ciudad nos quedamos gracias a CouchSurfing. Encontramos a un chico increíble, Jane, que nos abrió las puertas de su departamento y nos invitó a pasar unos 4 días fabulosos. Jane nos llevó a recorrer la ciudad, por todos lados!!

Pasamos por el famoso puente frente al Opera, vimos el teatro desde el una orilla, luego nos llevo al mismísimo parque en donde se encuentra el imponente edificio. Almorzamos en una playa famosa de Sydney que se llama Bondi Beach y vimos el mar con todos sus colores. Recorrimos partes antiguas y partes super modernas. Durante la noche paseamos por su barrio. Durante el día jugabamos en museos y recorrimos la reserva natural.

La aventura de hacer couchsurfing tiene eso. A veces conoces personas que solo te dicen "hola, estas son las llaves, divertite" y otras conoces gente maravillosa, como Jane, con el cual pasamos unos días increíbles y por suerte, aun, seguimos en contacto.

Dato: caminando por las calles de Sydney nos encontramos con un dispenser de libros. Un lugar donde podes sacar un libro que alguna persona lo dejó ahí para que circule. Podes dejar el tuyo también, así otra persona que quiera lo agarra, lo lee y lo vuelve a poner en algún otro espacio destinado a este fin.

Una idea super linda de mover libros, de compartirlos con otros seres deseosos de leer.

Por otro lado, no queremos olvidarnos de comentarles que la mayoría de los museos son gratuitos. A veces se cobra algún ticket cuando hay una exposición especial, pero por lo demás, poder ir a los museos, recorrerlos, jugar, pintar, observar y aprender es de manera gratuita.

Arriving in Sydney and watching the Opera there, that we are used to see every year on TV when they announce that "Australia is already a new year" is something inexplicable. Maybe for some readers this seems like a bullshit, but for us it was really exciting, not because of the opera, that does not represent anything to us, but because of the fact of seeing and feeling for the first time "on the other side of the world".

Watching us there, gave us goosebumps and our hearts beating a thousand. Hey! We really did it, we are really going around the world. I think at that moment we just understood that.

New Zealand already had us in love with its landscapes, its society and its culture, but we had not realized that we were on that side of the world, on that side that always looks so far away when they celebrate the year that we will celebrate many hours later . From what I think, Sydney was our big slap.

In this beautiful city we stay thanks to CouchSurfing. We found an amazing guy, Jane, who opened the doors of his apartment and invited us to spend a fabulous 4 days. Jane took us around the city, everywhere!

We passed the famous bridge in front of the Opera, we saw the theater from the shore, then Jane took us to the very park where the imposing building is located. We had lunch on a famous Sydney beach called Bondi Beach and saw the sea with all its colors. We go through old parts and super modern parts. During the night we walk through his neighborhood. During the day we played in museums and toured the nature reserve.

The adventure of doing couchsurfing has that. Sometimes you meet people who just say "hello, these are the keys, have fun" and other times you know wonderful people, like Jane, with whom we spent some amazing days and luckily, still, we keep in touch.

Fact: walking through the streets of Sydney we find a book dispenser. A place where you can get a book that someone left it there to circulate. You can leave yours too, so another person who wants to grab it, reads it and puts it back in some other space for this purpose.

A super nice idea to move books, to share them with other beings eager to read.

On the other hand, we don't want to forget to tell you that most museums are free. Sometimes a ticket is charged when there is a special exhibition, but otherwise, being able to go to museums, tour them, play, paint, observe and learn is free.
